Sidney Nolan ‘the trial’ 1947

This was produced post Second World War. As shown there are many messages in this piece of work for example the soldiers can imply the war the three eyes in the black box could imply terrorism. Sidney’s approach is amazing I really like this piece as for me it illustrates a lot of the the events that happened post Second World War, along with depression. He also used a lot of dark deep colours with a pop of red which maybe symbolising pain, hurt and cry the colour that retributes to death or suffering aid.
