As first year students on the graphic design course, we were vsited by representatives of the British LGBT community and were tasked with creating the next badge for the upcoming Pride Month. We were given a brief and the representatives talked to us about the theme of the badge, which was about the Gay community’s history. They provided us with names of famous LGBT figures and gave us ideas. We then spent our days sketching, researching, creating our profile boards and finalising our ideas on computers. I personally went with Antinoous, the Greek lover of Roman Emperor Hadrian. It was an interesting experience as i discovered more about the LGBT community and its uprising in the modern world. It was also a fun competition between me and my classmates.
